Wow, what a great experience. Can't say enough great things about our trip here. Owners really seem to love what they do and it shows. Can't wait to make it back out again in the near future. Ive eaten a LOT of BBQ over the US and by far the best beans ive ever had. THANKS for an exceptional dining experience. Something we had forgotten what it was like. Only recommendations is to add sweet tea to the drink selection
My family stopped by on our way across the state. We were pleasantly surprised! The food overall was fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed my pulled pork sandwich as our children enjoyed their smoked hotdog meals! My husband had the pulled pork and brisket. A for the pork! If we are nit picking, he thought the brisket was a tad lean and a little over cooked but it was forgiven by the amazing sauces they make in house! Wow, fantastic! The service was quick and so friendly. The prices are pretty spot on with similar cuisine. Kevin, the owner stopped by to check on us and he was genuinely friendly and kind! I'm sure we will find our way back here one day, soon if we are lucky!
I prefer supporting local, family owned businesses. I stopped in on my way to Grand Rapids on Sunday. I’m not a big fan of bbq but I was after a burger. I will tell you it was awesome! Wrapped for take-out, thoughtfully packaged keeping the tomato, pickles, and lettuce separate. Interesting and flavorful French fries, condiments, separate.
We visited after my wife had seen a tiktok about this place. We ordered the cheesy French dip with fries, rack of ribs with beans and macaroni and cheese, burnt ends for an appetizer, and bread pudding. The food was delicious. This is not your run of the mill BBQ place. Everything was better. The seasonings and flavors were just a level up. The servings were very plentiful. My wife ate the bread pudding first because that couldn't go home with us, and the candied walnuts and fruit she thought made it the best she's ever had. The restaurant and restrooms were very clean and stocked. The employees were welcoming, polite, and so friendly. If we lived closer we'd come often, so we'll have to settle for when we are in the area.
Great Michigan BBQ! We have ordered takeout a few times and came tonight to dine-in, so glad we did. Food was phenomenal - ribs fall off the bone, mac n’ cheese was to die for, brisket burnt ends were delicious! But what truly made our visit was the atmosphere and the personal touches by owner. He welcomed us at our table, told us all about how he uses local Michigan for smoking the meat, and even treated us to a dessert with us. Hands down the best bread pudding we’ve had. We’ll be back!
I got the pulled pork sandwich which was really good. Pork was moist but not as smokey as I would've expected. Fries were pretty good but a bit over seasoned. Slaw was really good as well! Their bbq sauces were good, would like to see some Carolina sauces though. Inside there isn't enough seating but the decor is really nicely done and inviting. Staff was really friendly and inviting as well, kitchen sent my food out quickly despite being pretty busy. All in all a quality place and will definitely be back to try their ribs n what not! EDIT: came back for their meat sampler, first thing I tasted on it was the brisket, in my experience if that is smoked correctly, the rest should be pretty good. It was cooked correctly and was delicious! Everything else on the plate was equally delicious and smokey. Their brats deserve a special shout out, had an amazing flavor and char on it. Kudos to y'all for doing bbq correctly!
This place has been my favorite BBQ joint for years! Burnt ends, pulled pork nachos, Johnny cakes, and brisket have always been amazing. I have never gotten bad food or service in 7 years!
This place is a hidden gem. The food rivals any BBQ/smoked meat I've ever had. We took a party of 14 in there. And they handled it with ease. It's a fast casual. So you order at the counter and then they bring it out to your table. We literally had food coming out in 10 to 15mins. If you like BBQ/Smoked meat, you have to try it. The brisket French dip was absolutely amazing. And it may sound cliche, but everything we had, was delicious. I tried a bite or 2 of a bunch of other people's food, (it's ok, we're all family) and I couldn't find anything that was bad.
